The Clan MacCulloch, also spelled MacCulloch, is a Scottish clan with origins in Galloway. The clan takes its name from the Gaelic “MacCullaich,” meaning “son of Cullaich.” The MacCullochs held lands in the area of Wigtownshire and were known for their martial prowess. A notable member of the clan is Sir Godfrey McCulloch, who fought valiantly during the Wars of Scottish Independence. He was a trusted supporter of Robert the Bruce and played a crucial role in securing Scottish independence.
