MacRae

The Clan MacRae is a Scottish clan associated with the region of Kintail in the Western Highlands. The clan takes its name from the Gaelic Macraith, meaning “son of Rath.” The MacRaes were known for their skills as warriors and their loyalty to their chief. A notable figure of the clan is Farquhar MacRae, who lived during the 17th century. Farquhar MacRae was a soldier and military leader known for his bravery and tactical expertise. He served as the lieutenant colonel of the Earl of Seaforth’s Regiment, also known as the “MacRaes’ Regiment.”
